I am grateful for the many books and documentaries yoga students share with me. Today I heard about “Seeds of Death.” I watched it for free on YouTube and learned about Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in our food supply. According to the film, bio-chemical companies cross-breed plants and animals for profit– to encourage larger, more abundant, pesticide-resistant foods. Sounds like a win for the food supply, right? But studies show these foods are harmful to eat, contributing to our rise in allergies, syndromes, diseases and infertility over the past 100 years since its introduction. The whole system is controlled by one politically powerful and litigious biochemical seed manufacturer. I have questions. Why does the FDA and lawmakers protect them instead of us? How can we avoid GMO foods? I encourage you to watch the film and let me know what you think.
